![]() I had installed windows through usb boot in my old system. One thing I wanted to say, are you sure usb bios boot will not be able functioning in my old computer system. Thats the purpose of keeping such an antique system. Bcoz it was my first computer and I love this old computer. Having a new computer system, I think I dont need an high update for my old computer system. So, my friend I already have a new computer system. It's so old that it's floppy only no USB or CD. Not sure about the USB Boot method for this motherboard. I think Floppy is not available in market. There is a risk to Flash BIOS In a OLD Motherboard.Īnd Intel website mentioned only Floppy Disk method. ![]() My mother board is too much old (Year 2006), So its almost 10 years. So these are reason I choose INTEL PENTIUM D 945. I neither want to change my motherboard nor my Ram. So the only option is Intel Pentium D 945. So I didnt choose the last one INTEL D 950. Pentium D 950 Is supported by D101GGC But its TDW is Very high ( TDP 130 WATT). So among all the Outdated Processors Like Pentium 4, Pentium D, I think Pentium D 945 is one of the best. The range of Supported Processors for D101GGC are PENTIUM 4 ( From 506 to 661), Pentium D ( 805 To 950) and CELERON Processor ( 325J to 351 ). They are also LGA 775 Socket but not supported by this motherboard. The latest series of Dual core processors ( Like Intel Pentium G3220, G4440) are not supported by this Motherboard. I choose Intel Pentium D 915, Because Intel D101GGC Support Only Celeron processor, Pentium 4 and Pentium D only. Are you sure the D945 is good (presuming your BIOS and motherboard support it)? You should use a better cooler because the D945 has a slightly higher TDP. ![]() Using too old a BIOS version or motherboard revision will cause issues.ħ2☌ is not alarming 100☌ would be. i Wanted to install the new CPU.īIOS version? What motherboard revision? The following support the D945: So hopelessly remove the pentium D And installed the OLD CPU. But when I started Mozilla Firefox after some time. But after few times its got freeze / hanged. Now windows started and my windows desktop in opened. My Pentium 4 maximum goes to maximum 64 C.įirst time when Windows 8.1 started the booting is hanged, so forcefully needed to restart but still no boot. I am using my old HEAT SINK ( CPU Pentium 4 ). But when I check the temperature in BIOS Hardware monitoring the temp is increasing. I Had installed the cpu without updating the BIOS. ![]() It will work if the BIOS is 0312 or newer: Define what you mean by run smoothly it will be up to twice as fast on multi-threaded applications, but still awfully slow by current standards. ![]()
